When anesthetic has been used, your lips, teeth and tongue may be numb for several hours after the appointment. Avoid consuming hot beverages and any chewing until the numbness has completely worn off.

It is normal to experience some hot, cold or pressure sensitivity after your appointment. Your gums may be sore for several days. Rinse with warm salt water ( 1 teaspoon of salt dissolved in one cup of warm water,) it will reduce pain and swelling.

A few days after placement of the filling, if there is any sensitivity to biting or temperature please contact the office.
